The REDI Team

REDI team members are dedicated individuals who bring a variety of experiences and areas of expertise together to meet the mission of improving the lives of others through education and development. All members volunteer their time and skills.

President and Project Coordinator, Daniel Bauer holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology and has conducted research in Ecuador for nearly two decades. bauerphotoHe also has extensive experience in the Peruvian Amazon. As a Cultural Anthropologist, REDI is an outgrowth of his commitment to the residents of coastal Ecuador and not only is he the President and Project Coordinator, he is also the Founder of REDI. He works closely with On Site Project Coordinators to facilitate project implementation.                                                      

On Site Project Coordinator, Fernando Gutierrez is a native of coastal Ecuador. He has extensive experience working in tourism and has provided oversight for numerous tourism related projects. redifernandoWhen not busy working at Ecuador’s Machalilla National Park, Fernando volunteers time and expertise to REDI and serves as the on site coordinator for all REDI projects. Fernando coordinates REDI’s monthly food subsidies to individuals in need and also lends his talents to numerous additional REDI projects.

On Site Project Coordinator, Ivo Gutierrez is a native of coastal Ecuador, a founding member of the Association of Native Guides of Salango, and has an extensive background working in tourism. img_20171115_1504219.jpgHe has worked with REDI since our inception. He provides oversight and coordination for many REDI projects by volunteering his time, talents, energy, and expertise. Most notably, Ivo coordinates REDI’s support of the annual Festival de la Balsa Mantena and he has worked closely with rural schools in a variety of REDI projects.
